IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING COVID-19
It is the moment you have all been waiting for!
Crescent Oak Massage Therapy is open!
Of course, due to COVID-19, there will be some strict rules and protocols that need to be followed.
If you do not follow these guidelines, you will be denied service.
Many of you received the email from Crescent Oak Massage Therapy, regarding the new protocols for both clients and practitioners to follow. I will be reiterating this list here, as it is very comprehensive. Please take the time to read through this.
Please note, that Massage Therapy does not allow for full social distancing practices. As such, we will be relying heavily on PPE, increased cleaning procedures, and honest, open communication between therapist and patient.
IF YOU ARE SICK – STAY HOME!
This goes for your entire household. If someone at your home is sick, please cancel and rebook for a later date.
I can not stress this enough! Please stay home if you are feeling ill. This is for the safety of not just yourself, but myself and other patients. If you have recently traveled outside of the province or country within 14 days or come into contact who has COVID, please do not come in.
If you are experiencing any signs or symptoms of illness, including fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, loss of sense of smell, stay home.
If your symptoms worsen, your breathing becomes difficult, or if you believe you may have COVID-19, please call 8-1-1 and get checked.
If you must cancel the day of due to illness, the cancellation fee has been waved.
Please note, that even though we will be following these protocols and doing our due diligence, we can not guarantee that it is a 100% safe. You, myself or any other person in the building could be a carrier without knowing. With that in mind, please think about what is best for you and your household before booking a treatment.

COVID Questionnaire & Intake Forms
At the time of booking, a mandatory questionnaire will be e-mailed to you. Fill this out at the time of booking. If you do not have access to email, I will ask you these questions over the phone.
You will be verbally asked these same questions on the day of your appointment. I will be contacting each patient within 24 hours of their appointment via phone.
If you do not complete this questionnaire and do not meet the criteria of the verbal questions, we have the right and duty to refuse your entry into the clinic space. Your appointment will be canceled.
As well, for many of you, we will need you to update your general intake form with the most up-to-date medical information. This should be done annually.
Please do not enter the office until your scheduled appointment time.
Please wait in your car or outside, allowing proper social distancing space from other people and the entrance/exit way.
I will text/call you when I am ready to meet you at the front for your appointment.
Personal Items & Family Members
At this point in time, we ask that you do not bring in any unnecessary personal items. Please only bring in your keys, wallet and phone.
There will be a sanitized plastic tub for you to put your personal items and clothes, these items will not be accessible during your treatment, this includes your cellphone!
Please avoid bringing additional people to your appointment. The only exception to this are parents of children receiving treatment and caregivers.
You will be directed to wash your hands with hot soapy water for a minimum of 20 seconds upon office entry and exit, as will your therapist.
If for some reason, the sink is unavailable, or if you want more, there is also hand sanitizer available.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Your therapist will not be wearing gloves during treatments, unless you request. At this point in time, I have latex and latex free gloves available. So please inform if you have an allergy to latex.
Every patient is required to arrive with a mask (medical or non-medical).
Your therapist will be wearing a mask that will be changed between each patient and either thrown out or laundered daily.
Face shields are available upon request.
Cleaning & Sanitizing
I have left 30 minutes between each patient to allow ample time to complete a full change over and cleaning of high-contact surfaces.
Oil will be dispersed into individual glass containers so that every patient has their own oil. This will decrease the touching of bottles during treatments and decrease contamination risks. The oil container will be placed on a steel tray that will be sanitized between appointments.
Cleaning will be done with approved products.
Each patients’ linens will be stored inside a sanitized plastic tub, until their appointment.
There will be no heating pads, thermaphores, or tabletop warmer available.
All linens will be stripped from the table after every treatment!
They will be removed from the office at the end of each day, laundered, along with the carrying sack, in a high heat/ sanitization setting.
The bins and glass oil containers will be sanitized with hot soapy water before any fresh supplies are put in.
All appointments are the full listed price. At this time, I will not be adding any extra fees.
Cash and cheques are NOT accepted.
E-transfer, Visa, Mastercard are the only form of payment.
At this point, I am only offering 60 minute treatment times with set start times.
Intra-Oral work is still offered, but only if both myself and the patient believe it is necessary and safe to do so. I will still be wearing a mask during this form of treatment and will be wearing either a face shield or goggles to protect myself.
Last, but certainly not least, there is a change of hours. During the shutdown, I decided to start furthering my education and have started some university courses working towards my Bachelor of Health Sciences. As well as the strong urgings of health officials, I have reduced my hours for the time being as a safety precaution.
My hours for the foreseeable future will be:
Mondays 930am - 12pm
Wednesday 12 – 6pm
Friday 12 – 6pm
There are set times for treatments. They are as follow:
9:30am - 10:30 am - Mondays only
11 am - 12 pm - Mondays only
12 pm – 1 pm Wed/Fri only
1:30 pm - 2:30 pm Wed/Fri only
3 pm – 4 pm Wed/Fri only
4:30 pm – 5:30 pm Wed/Fri only
Home visits are still available upon request, however, there will be more questions, and this will only be provided to patients who can not leave their homes and if I deem it safe to do so.
